Banks, Income Tax Offices to work on March 31.

Since the financial year 2019, March 31 falls on Sunday, it was reported that banks will function, but will not be available for public operations. But treasury operations and online transactions can be done.

It was told, GST and tax counters in banks alone will be open for public on Sunday. 

The Banks will be closed on April 1. Even while the banks are closed for financial transactions, internet and mobile transactions can be done. ATM cash deposit also can be done, said CH Venkatachalam, Secretary, Bank Employees Union.

Similarly, Income Tax offices will also function on Sunday, April 31, for the welfare of the tax payers.

The Property Tax counters in Chennai corporation has also announced that the counters will be open as per regular work hours, to help the public pay their property taxes. The e-Seva centres will also function on March 31, reports said.
