Give Nobel to Oppn leader for lying: EPS
CM Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday said that if there was a Nobel Prize for telling lies, it should be given to DMK president MK Stalin.
Tiruvannamalai
Palaniswami was campaigning for AIADMK candidate V Elumalai from the Arni LSconstituency, at Wandiwash in Tiruvannamalai district.
Stating that DMK’s manifesto was aimed at cheating people, he said all promises made by former CM J Jayalalithaa in 2011 Assembly elections, including provisions for free laptops, cycles and mobile medical units for villages, marriage assistance and agricultural schemes, were all fulfilled.
Referring to Stalin’s remark that AIADMK had aligned with BJP, a fundamentalist and religious party, he wondered whether DMK was unaware of BJPs credential when it allied with the saffron party in 1999. “Just like DMK drew a blank in 2014, this time too they will meet the same fate,” he added.
Later at a meeting at the Cheyyar bus stand in support of Elumalai, he called on the public to vote to him to power as it would ensure safety and security for the nation. This would be possible only if Narendra Modi was made the PM again, he added.
Stating that 3,500 irrigation tanks have been desilted in TN, he said services of four retired engineers have been sought to compile a report to construct check dams wherever needed. “Doesn’t matter how much it costs; funds would be provided to ensure welfare of farmers,” he said. Efforts would also be taken to double the working days from 100 days in the MGNREGS scheme, he said.
