R Padmanabhan takes over as General Manager of BHEL Tiruchy
R Padmanabhan has taken over as General Manager (in-charge) of the BHEL Tiruchy comprising the high pressure boiler plant and seamless steel tube plant at Tiruchy, power plant piping unit at Thirumayam, piping centre at Chennai and the industrial valves plant at Goindwal in Punjab.

Prior to this Padmanabhan was general manager (in-charge) of Corporate Quality and Business Excellence at BHEL's Corporate Office at New Delhi. He succeeds R Rajamanohar, Executive Director, who retired on superannuation on Saturday.
R Padmanabhan (57) is a Mechanical Engineering graduate who joined BHEL Tiruchy as an engineer trainee in 1983 and has over 35 years of diverse professional experience both at BHEL's Tiruchy division and its corporate head office at New Delhi.
An alumnus of the reputed Alagappa Chettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi, Padmanabhan joined the Commercial (Fossil Boilers) group of BHEL Tiruchy after initial training and quickly established himself as an expert in customer relations and project management gaining a reputation for ensuring customer satisfaction at all costs.
He then moved to the Advanced Technology Products group where he gained considerable expertise in the cutting edge products including nuclear steam generators for power generation applications and was later put in charge of the Business Development group.
On his elevation to the post of General Manager in 2013, Padmanabhan was posted to the Project Management Group at BHEL's Corporate Office at New Delhi and was subsequently moved to the sensitive Defence Business Group in BHEL's Industry Sector.
In 2017, he returned to BHEL Tiruchy to head the Business Development group and was then put in charge of the production of Advanced Technology Products where he was responsible for streamlining complex operations and achieving cycle time reduction on an unprecedented scale.
He then moved to head the Outsourcing Department before his transfer back to BHEL's Corporate Office at New Delhi in December 2018 on promotion as GM (in-charge) and head of the Corporate Quality and Business Excellence group.
