Stalin raps AIADMK over drought situation
The state government has not yet responded to the question on the schemes implemented in the districts, including Tiruchy, Perambalaur and Ariyalur that were declared as drought hit, said DMK president MK Stalin on Thursday here launching the campaign in support of the IJK president Pachamuthu.

Stalin said that Edappadi K Palaniswami-led government is concerned more about themselves and not about the people’s welfare.
Addressing a huge gathering in support of the IJK president Pachamuthu, who has been contesting in the DMK symbol for the Perambalur constituency, Stalin lashed out Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam over his acknowledgement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing jallikattu in the state. “If that was true, why he was not able to scrap NEET with his close association with Modi? We lost a medical aspirant Anitha from Ariyalur, but still, the government is maintaining unusual silence,” Stalin said.
Meanwhile, he attacked the Prime Minister for not visiting the Delta region when it was affected by Cyclone Gaja. “He did not even release a statement consoling the affected people. On what basis Modi is coming to Tamil Nadu now for campaigning?” asked Stalin. He said, instead of protecting the people, the rulers in Tamil Nadu are only striving hard to protect themselves.
He recalled that steps taken by former minister A Raja to bring a medical college in Perambalur were dropped after the change in the Union government. “The DMK is going to form government in the state. Once the party is in power, it will certainly bring a medical college in Perambalur and steps would be initiated to open a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the projects dropped after the AIADMK came to power,” Stalin said.
