In a circular issued on Thursday, Family Court Principal Judge AKA Rahmaan said a separate hub would be put up for female litigants enabling them to undergo the security check at both the main door entrance of Principal Family Court and the entrance of IV Additional Principal Family Court.
Noting that the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police has informed that the department has recommended installation of security equipment at the Family Court but the government is yet to sanction funds, the circular said the litigants who hold a pass alone would be permitted to enter through the main entrance of the additional buildings to gain access to the Principal Family Court and three other additional Family Courts.
It also directed the litigants not to enter through the back door near the Central Nazir Section and the wicket door near the III additional judge’s chamber, where exit is permitted, and added that litigants entering the IV, V, VI and VII Additional Family Court will be permitted to enter only through the entrance near the IV Additional Principal Family Court where exit is permitted.
The circular said the arrangement is not applicable to advocates, court staff and counsellors on production of their identity proof, and asked the advocates to abstain from permitting the accompanying relatives to come into the court premises. Henceforth, the relatives accompanying the litigants would not be permitted to enter Family Court premises. They should remain outside the main door entrance, the circular said.
As the present police strength is very poor, the Deputy Commissioner of Police should ensure the posting adequate police personnel at every entry points of the building entrance and exit of all Family Courts, City Civil Court and counsellors’ rooms, Principal Judge Rahmaan added.
