Nagai car driver held for sexually abusing, blackmailing woman

A 23-year-old car driver, S Sundar, was arrested on Saturday for sexually abusing a 22-year-old woman and blackmailing her using incriminating photographs, with the police saying he might have lured several women after promising to marry them.

Police have also seized the mobile phone used by Sundar, which allegedly contains several videos and photographs, sources said, adding details would be known only after a complete inquiry. 

Kilvelur police said Sundar, was arrested following a complaint from the woman’s parents. Sundar, from Velipalayam, had met her at a mobile re-charge shop and the duo were also in a relationship. However, later, sensing a change in his behaviour, the woman started avoiding him. This upset Sundar who started hounding her at the shop, forcing the woman to quit, police said. 

A few days ago, Sundar turned up at the girl’s house and assaulted her. By the time her mother could come to her rescue, Sundar had fled. Another day, the girl ac

companied him to a temple in Karaikal. On the way, Sundar had stopped for a soft drink. As soon as she consumed it, police said that the girl fell unconscious and Sundar reportedly took her to a lodge, sexually abused her, took photographs and also video graphed it. 

Later, Sundar met the girl again and threatened to post the footage on social media and on Friday afternoon, sensing the girl was alone at her house, Sundar again turned up at her house and threatened her. When she refused, Sundar reportedly assaulted her again and escaped.
