    Govt answerable in Mugilan missing case: Protesters

    Members of various farmers’ and social welfare associations staged a demonstration in Tiruchy on Friday, urging steps to trace the whereabouts of environmental activist RS Mugilan, who had gone missing while proceeding to board a train at the Egmore Railway station.

    Mugilan went missing after holding a media interaction, when he produced video documentary evidences in connection with the Thoothukudi police firing incident.


    People from all walks of life joined hands with activists on Friday and demanded that the government undertake efforts to trace the whereabout of Mugilan.


    The protesters, led by Tamilaga Vivasayigal Sangam district president MP Chinnadurai and social activist Durai Pandian, assembled near the Collectorate in Tiruchy and raised slogans pressing for their demand.


    Suspecting a foul play in Mugilan’s disappearance, they urged the State government to provide a proper response in this regard. They also said the government must take responsibility if anything adverse happened to Mugilan.
