    The Directorate of Higher Education has urged all the schools to complete the exams before April 12, since the elections are to be held on April 18.

    Since the parliamentary elections are to be held in various states starting from April, all the political parties have been actively involved in alliances, including coalition, block allocation and campaign. The Election Commission is also engaged in the procedures of the same.

    The Lok Sabha elections are announced to be held in a single phase, for all the constituencies in Tamil Nadu on April 18. Following the announcement, the school director has issued an order to change the examination schedule.

    According to the order, all the government, state aid and private schools will have to complete their school exams by April 12, considering the Parliamentary election scheduled on April 18. 

    Usually the exams will end by the 3rd week of April. Now, it has been planned to start the third term exams by 1st of April and finish before 12th April.

    The changes made in the schedule will be notified through a circular to all the schools,by DPI. It is also said that schools can opt to work on Saturdays to compensate the loss in working days.
