RPF recruitment process under way to fill 10k posts
RPF DGP Arun Kumar on Thursday said that the recruitment process to fill 9,800 vacant posts were underway and as many as 75 companies of RPF personnel were deputed on election duty across the nation, among which, 14 were allocated for TN.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the RPF training centre, he said each company of RPF comprised of 140 personnel. As per EC directions, they would be on vigil to keep a check on transportation of money, liquor and other gifts, to be distributed by the candidates to the voters, he said.
He said the recruitment process to fill 9,800 vacant posts, including that of 1,200 sub-inspectors, were underway across India. “As part of security measures, RPF has been taking steps to install CCTV cameras in railway stations and so far, 450 stations across India have been equipped with security cameras. The process of installing cameras was underway in 6,000 more railway stations,” he said.
Besides, the RPF personnel would be equipped with micro cameras, to be launched soon, he said.
