Teachers commented said that the number of centum marks this year would drastically come down as students faced many tricky and unfamiliar questions. Most of the students expected that the questions will appear within the exercise list. Class 11 had a new syllabus this year.

It is reported that Part-II had more theory questions than numerical sums. “Most of the two mark questions in Part-II was difficult. Even Part-III had sone difficult questions,” K Benjimen, a Class 11 student of a private school at Pammal, said.

He pointed out that the revision exams, which was also conducted by the government recently, was easy. “We followed the model of the revision question papers,” the student added.

Echoing similar views, K Savitha, student of a government school in Chormpet, said “We had to spend a lot of time to solve even one-mark questions. This made us rush to answer other questions within the stipulated time”.

“Even some of the bright students told us that they could not attend a few questions due to lack of time,” S Parvathi, a teacher who take classes for higher secondary students in Pallavaram, said.

Teachers fear that the number of students scoring full marks will come down as many students, including a few bright students, could not attaend all the questions due to time crunch. “They had to spend a lot of time even on questions witn lower marks,” a teacher said.

On the other hand, the Zoology and Commerce papers were reported to be easy for pure science and commerce students. They said that all the question came only within the portions and it was easy to attend.

After a day’s gap, Science students will face Physics examination and Commerce students will appear for Economics paper on Thursday. The last exam will be on March 22.
