Addressing a press conference, he said the open letter by Bedi to citizens shows that she had interfered into the day-to-day administration of the government.
Stopping the supply of free rice to malign the elected government, 100 percent financial support to Adi Dravidar medical students through Centralized Admission Committee, CSR funds from private medical colleges under the guise of inspection, and stalling recruitment of nurses and police constables are among the hindrances allegedly by the Lt Governor.
Once again detailing the judgement of the Madurai bench of MC in the case filed by Parliamentary Secretary K Lakshminarayanan challenging the order of the Union Home Ministry giving special powers to the Lt Governor, CM said court has ruled that Lt Governor enjoys no special powers.
Stating that Bedi had posted the order of former MHC Judge (now SC Judge) Indira Banerjee that power rests with Lt Governor in a UT set up, he said that the order was based on the earlier judgement of the Delhi HC in a case filed by Kejriwal. He added that the case was later heard by the Supreme Court and the Top Court ruled that powers rests with elected government. CM said that it is learnt that Lt Governor is making efforts to go for an appeal against the MHC judgement. The administrator could not go for an appeal as she did not appear in the case and was represented by her private secretary Sridhar. He also added that he wrote to Chief Secretary to not to go for an appeal without the approval of the cabinet. If he proceeds further it will be a violation of law.
Recalling that Governor had written to the Judge of the Green Tribunal to punish the CM and Ministers. Narayanasamy said that she is not here to good things to the people. He also said that Puducherry could not file a contempt case against Karnataka on the Cauvery water issue along with TN as the Governor has not provided permission and acted as a Central Government agent. To a question, the CM warned if the officials failed to abide the orders a contempt case would be filed against them.
