With elections to Lok Sabha constituencies are fast approaching, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has unfortunately entered into an alliance with the party, which sought removal of former party supremo J Jayalalithaa’s portrait from the Assembly Hall, Dhinakaran said hitting out at the ruling dispensation.
While talking to reporters, the AMMK leader said when he contested from the RK Nagar Assembly constituency, which fell vacant following the demise of Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK leaders belittled his progress. “But, ultimately I won after contesting the bypoll from RK Nagar constituency as an independent candidate. Similarly, the AMMK would achieve victory in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls too,” he said.
Further, Dhinakaran said, “people are with us and about 95 per cent cadres and followers of Jayalalithaa are with the AMMK only.” Since the ruling AIADMK had lost its support from the people, the party has been running here and there to form alliance with all to face the upcoming Parliamentary polls.
Responding to a query on the AMMK losing out on Two Leaves symbol case in Delhi High Court, he said, “The AMMK would move the Supreme Court challenging the New Delhi High Court’s recent verdict on ‘Two Leaves’.” The verdict came as a political setback to the AMMK.
