Speaking to reporters after participating in a party meeting for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Karur, Sanjay Dutt, who expressed happiness on the release of the IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, said, “The BJP has been attempting to gain political mileage from the sacrifice made by the service personnel.”
Pointing out the statement of Karnataka former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa that the BJP would fetch 24 seats in the Lok Sabha after the attack on Pakistan, he said, “His statement shows the BJP’s intention to win the election by wars. However, it will never happen.”
Likening the AIADMK-BJP combine to a forced marriage, he said the BJP has been working against the interests of Tamil Nadu for the past five years.
The AICC Secretary said the State government has been functioning under the remote control of the national party.
