    A total of 69,450 students wrote the Class 12 exams in the twin districts of Vellore and Tiruvannamalai on Friday.

    While 41,422 students attended the exam in 169 centres in the district of Vellore, 28,028 candidates appeared for the boards in Tiruvannamalai.


    In Vellore, the exam process was overseen by 220 head masters, 1600 post graduate teachers and 1000 graduate teachers in addition to 250 flying squads, according to Collector SA Raman who inspected the exam centre at the Auxillium Girls Higher Secondary School at Gandhinagar near Katpadi.


    A total of 94 differently-abled candidates also took the exam, Raman said and added that the TNEB had been asked to provide uninterrupted power during the exam hours that is between 10 am and 12.30 pm.


    Similarly, it was ensured that proper transport arrangements were made so that the students reached their exam venues on time, in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai.


    Tiruvannamalai Collector, KS Kandasamy said that 180 flying squads deputed to ensure that the students did not resort to any fraudulent means. Vellore CEO, S Mars and Tiruvannamalai CEO, V Jayakumar accompanied their district heads during the inspection of exam centres on Friday.
