The memorial statue should be established along the National Highway at the entrance of Savalaperi village as a mark of tribute to the martyred soldier. “If the government failed to do so, the memorial would be built with my contribution and also from people,” Vaiko added. The 28-year old Subramanian was killed on February 14 in a suicide bomb attack unleashed by a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. Vaiko garlanded the portrait of the martyred soldier and paid homage. He expressed consoled the grief stricken Krishnaveni, wife of the slain jawan, Ganapathy, his father and Krishnasamy, his brother.

Referring to job placement for Krishnaveni, wife of the slain soldier, as Village Administrative Officer, he said the government should have either placed her in any one of the departments at Collectorate, Revenue Divisional Office or at Taluk office since Krishnaveni was a graduate. Moreover, Vaiko also sought the state to offer a job for Krishnasamy, brother of the slain soldier.
