25 Sri Lankan fishermen arrested
As many as 25 Sri Lankan fishermen have been arrested and five Sri Lankan deep sea fishing vessels were seized for fishing in Indian waters off Vedaranyam coast on Monday.

Indian Coast Guard vessel ICGS Shaurya spotted the fishermen stretching their long lines to catch tuna 200 nautical miles from Vedaranyam. Coast Guard personnel intervened and arrested the fishermen and took control of the five fishing vessels. They are expected to be brought to Karaikal early on Tuesday morning, said sources.
