As many as 18,624 candidates will be conferred with their degrees in the 26th Convocation of Pondicherry University (PU) to be held on Friday.

As many as 18,624 candidates will be conferred with their degrees in the 26th Convocation of Pondicherry University (PU) to be held on Friday.
According to a University release here on Thursday, Students who graduated during the Academic Year 2016-17 are to receive their degrees in the convocation in addition to the Doctoral Researchers who completed till May 2018.
Justice Permod Kohli, Former Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court and Former Chairman, Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) will deliver the convocation address in the presence of Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and his cabinet colleagues M O H F Shajahan and R Kamalakannan.
Parliament members from Puducherry Gokulakrishnan and Radhakrishnan would also take part in the function which would be presided over by Vice-Chancellor Gurmeet Singh.
About 18,624 candidates in total will be conferred with their degrees in various disciplines, the release added. This includes 3,338 candidates under Distance Education mode and 312 candidates PhD degrees.
