Arakkonam municipal staffer dies in accident
A 37-year-old employee of Arakkonam municipality was killed and four others sustained injuries after the car in which they were travelling crashed into a wall near Ambur on Monday night.

Police identified the deceased official as Nagaraj (37) from Thakkolam near Arakkonam. Nagaraj, his wife Rani (30), two-year-old son and relatives Harish (23) and Kamalesh (19) were returning from Mysuru in a car. While they were crossing Ambur, Nagaraj, who was at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into the compound wall of a private godown and overturned.
While Nagaraj was killed on the spot, Rani, the couple’s son, Harish and Kamalesh suffered injuries. All the injured were rushed to Ambur Government Hospital. Rani and her son were later referred to CMC Hospital. Nagaraj’s body was sent for post-mortemÂ
examination.Â
