Rs 1.92 L seized from MV Inspector
Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) officials seized Rs 1.92 lakh of unaccounted money in a surprise raid at the office of Motor Vehicle Inspector at Rasipuram in Namakkal district on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off that staff of the department were taking a bribe from the public to issue vehicle registration certificates, change names of vehicle owners and for issuing fitness certificate, an eight-member team of DVAC sleuths led by Superintendent Jaykumar raided the office.Â
The search, which commenced at 11.30 am lasted post 9 pm and led to the seizure of over Rs 1.92 lakh.Â
The DVAC officials have booked 10 persons including Motor Vehicle Inspector Shanmuga Anand, junior assistant Sakthy, middlemen Kuppuraj, Senthil Kumar, Shahul Hameed, Muthusamy, Ravi, Kuppursamy, Karunakaran and computer operator Suresh. Â
As the office remained shut from morning due to raid, regular work was disrupted and the public had to return disappointed. Further inquiries are on.
