Kin protest as tyagi’s house razed in Tiruchy as per court order
Based on a court order, housing board unit razed the house of a freedom fighter in Tiruchy.

In an attempt to prevent the house from being demolished, the freedom fighter fell unconscious and was rushed to hospital. Later, he went to the district Collectorate to submit a petition in this regard.
According to sources, the freedom fighter K Vellaisamy (92), who was serving with the INA led by Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and has been receiving the pension for the freedom fighters was residing at Anna Nagar in Navalpattu in Tiruchy, in a five-acre land allotted by the government.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Housing Board unit had approached the Madurai bench of Madras High Court claiming that the piece of land belonged to them and wanted to retrieve back the land. So, the court had ordered in favour of the Housing board.
Based on the HC order, the Housing Board unit on Wednesday, came with a JCB Vellaisamy’s area and started demolishing the house. It may vbe noted that Vellaisamy and his family members were given prior intimation.
Soon, the family members tried to prevent the work, but they were removed by the police. On seeing the demolition of the house, Vellaisamy who attempted to save the house, fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital.
However, after treatment he was discharged. Later, he went to the Collectorate along with his family members and staged a protest in the premises. Officials tried to pacify him but he wanted a concrete solution for the issue.
