The GO, passed by the State Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department stated, “Administrative sanction was accorded for the provision of infrastructure facilities to 20 tribal schools run by the Forest Department in Vellore circle and Anamalai Tiger Reserve, Pollachi, at a total cost of Rs 12 crore with loan assistance from NABARD under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) scheme in a GO, in January, last year.”

The letter requesting allocation for fund by Director, Tribal Welfare, to the government was written in August, last year, where the Director had asked the state government to release the fund of Rs 12 crore to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCF), Chennai, for earlier completion of works sanctioned in the GO.

“After careful examination, the Government has decided to accept the proposal of the Director and accord financial sanction for a sum of Rs 12 crore. The Director shall authorise the PCF to draw funds within the appropriation as and when required,” the GO stated.

The GO also directed the Director, Tribal Welfare, to closely monitor and take follow up action with regard to quality and timely completion of works as per the schedule and instructions issued by the NABARD.
