A division bench comprising Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice P Rajamanickam after hearing lengthy arguments refused to pass any interim order after holding that the litigation moved by the company seeking for relief was filled with personal conflict over another company and hence will not fall under the ambit of a public interest litigation.

The plea moved by Cascade Energy Ltd, a Singapore-based company had contended that an Indian company called Zynergy Solar Projects Pvt Ltd had cheated it to the tune of Rs.33 Crore.

Advocate General Vijay Narayan submitted that the State acts as a mere facilitator by bringing foreign investors and Indian companies together and its role ends there.

The second edition of GIM is scheduled to be held on January 23 and 24.
