According to the police, S Vevan Maggie (22) from Odisha, a final year engineering student studying at a private college in Chennai, on Tuesday had come to drop her friend at the airport.

Her friend was scheduled to board a10.40 pm IndiGo flight to Bhubaneswar. Maggie scanned his e-ticket and made a duplicate one with her own name, using which, she gained entry inside the domestic terminal, police said. After her friend collected the boarding pass, Maggie tried to exit the terminal. However, on being stopped by CISF personnel, she told them she was offloaded. But, as there was no such seal on the ticket, she was asked to visit the airlines counter.

However, at the counter, her ticket was found to be duplicate, following which, she was detained. Later, she accepted that she forged the ticket to enter the airport.

In another incident, Vasith Gupta (22) from Madhya Pradesh had come to drop his friend for the same 10.40 pm flight.

He too had forged his friend’s ticket and entered the airport. He was stopped while trying to exit the terminal and he confessed that he used a duplicate ticket.

In a third incident, R Krishna (40), a businessman from Mugalivakkam had come to drop his wife and daughter, who were scheduled to take a flight to Dubai. Police said he had cancelled his ticket since he had a business meeting.

On Tuesday, Krishna showed his cancelled ticket and entered the international terminal. However, he was stopped on his way out after his wife and daughter boarded the flight.

The three accused were handed over to the airport police. They were let off after a case of trespassing were filed against them.
