Daring Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to order a judicial probe into the mysterious deaths and robbery surrounding Kodanad Estate, Stalin demanded the immediate resignation of the Chief Minister and said the Centre should immediately constitute a SIT, which should probe the mysteries under the supervision of the Madras High Court.

Urging the President and Governor to immediately summon the Chief Minister and seek clarification on the issue, Stalin said the other AIADMK Ministers and members of Sasikala’s family should also be investigated in the case. Advising the Centre to provide necessary protection to journalist Mathew Samuel and the two accused Sayan and Valayar Manoj who made sensational revelations in the case, Stalin told reporters at DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam on Sunday that his party would take up the matter with the President and the Governor. Claiming that he has sought Governor’s appointment on Monday, the LoP said, “If he (Governor) gives appointment tomorrow, we will explain the issue to him. If immediate action is not initiated on the issue, we will move the court.”

“Can he (Palaniswami) say that he would quit the CMO if the murder is proved? Can he say that he would order judicial probe into the issue?” Stalin wondered. Raising doubts over the clarification issued by the Chief Minister, Stalin said, “He (Palaniswami) did not say that he does not know Sayan or Kanagaraj? He did not deny that Rs 2,000 crore was available in Kodanad Estate? He did not deny that Rs 5 crore was negotiated. He did not claim that Kanagaraj’s death was an accident. He did not claim that Sayan’s wife and child died only in road accident. He did not claim that Dinesh Kumar committed suicide.”

Asked about the Chief Minister’s statement that Sayan and other accused have appeared 22 times in the court and they had not raised the issue then, Stalin said the truth would surface once a proper inquiry commission is constituted.
