AIADMK cadre surprised by DMK’s zeal in Jaya probe
A section of AIADMK workers are stunned by DMK leader MK Stalin’s intensified campaign regarding the death of former CM Jayalalithaa. Stalin has assured the villagers in Delta that the DMK after forming the government would probe against the death of his arch-rival Jayalalithaa.

Minister D Jayakumar said that the DMK leader was trying to garner votes using Amma’s legacy. “We are there to look into the issue, Stalin should focus on strengthening his party,” he told reporters. “Stalin sounds like our leader O Panneerselvam. This is what the AIADMK leadership and cadre had been campaigning in the past two years. Now Stalin is using the same language of the AIADMK,” said former AIADMK MLA Ku Sreenivasan.
“I was surprised to see Stalin talking about Amma and her legacy. The opposition leader fails to understand that this is a subject close to the AIADMK cadres and this is not going to fetch any votes to the DMK,” an AIADMK functionary said.
The DMK as an opposition party failed in RK Nagar, now after the demise of DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi the party lacks the statesmanship and this forces Stalin to rally behind Amma’s vote bank, Sreenivasan added.
“There are doubts in the minds of AIADMK workers about the death of Amma and this campaign is to target such people. This is a vote bank politics by the DMK,” said MGR Mandram functionary Poonga Nagar Selvam. Stalin feels that this campaign will help him to get the confused AIADMK followers on his side. Former CM Karunanidhi also behaved in the same manner when MGR was hospitalised. He called MGR his friend and said that he wanted the AIADMK founder to be the CM of Tamil Nadu. Stalin is adopting the same tactics deployed by his father, Selvam noted.
