Amendment to TN GST Act for quarterly filings
A Bill to amend the Tamil Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, was introduced in the state Assembly, on Monday.
The new Bill proposes a new return filing system which envisages quarterly filing of return and tax payment for small taxpayers along with minimum paperwork. According to the new Bill, the 2017 Act was passed for smooth transition of existing taxpayers to new goods and services tax regime but the new tax regime had faced certain difficulties. Earlier, an ordinance Act was promulgated by Governor Banwarilal Purohit on November 13, last year, for the purpose when the Assembly did not meet.
