Will align only with like-minded parties, says Anbumani
The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) will have an alliance with like-minded parties for Lok Sabha polls, says Anbumani Ramadoss.

Speaking to reporters, after participating in the party’s general body meeting in Coimbatore on Sunday, Anbumani said that an alliance will be forged with like-minded parties to win more MPs seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
“There is time for polls and alliance decisions will be taken by party founder Dr Ramadoss. The PMK will take a good decision on alliance considering the welfare of the people in Tamil Nadu, youth and farmers. Until then, people shouldn’t believe in rumours on alliance issues,” he said adding, “When PMK was part of an alliance in the Union government, the party brought many good projects to Tamil Nadu.”
The PMK leader said there are not much difference in the stand of the BJP and the Congress in the matters concerning the state like Sri Lankan Tamils, fishermen, Cauvery row and Mullaiperiyar issue. However, in the meeting he toned down his attack against both the AIADMK and the DMK indicating that the party is keeping its options open for an alliance with either of the two Dravidian majors. Nearly 17 resolutions are passed in the meeting that include a demand to Central Water Commission (CWC) to revoke permission granted to Karnataka to prepare a DPR for building a dam at Mekedatu and a plea to the Union government to provide financial assistance to Cyclone Gaja affected districts.
The party also urged both the state and Union governments to drop proposed projects like erection of HT transmission towers through fertile farmlands in 13 districts and Salem-Chennai expressway corridor. It also sought for the release of Rajiv convicts and wanted the implementation of prohibition from January.
