Jayakumar flagged off an awareness marathon in Chennai on Sunday. After the event, he said, “The fact is that AIADMK has its own vote share of 45 to 50 per cent and no one can touch that.”
When Jayakumar was asked about Rajinikanth’s entry into politics, he replied that Rajinikanth has plans to start a television channel and then is planning to start a political party. “If he starts a party only the DMK and other parties will have to worry,” he added.
He also said that the same applies to Kamal Haasan, as he is no threat to the AIADMK. “If Kamal Haasan decides to contest in Parliamentary election, he will split the votes of DMK and other parties only,” said Jayakumar.
When asked about the BJP trying hard to create a foundation for the party in the state through various video conferences, Jayakumar said that every party will wish to come to power in the state. But as far as Tamil Nadu is concerned people are clear that only the AIADMK should rule, because the party has ruled Tamil Nadu for the longest period in the history.
When asked about the recent Bill permitting Central government to investigate the contents in personal computers, Jayakumar welcomed the decision and said that technology is responsible for spreading terrorism, however, the issue should be handled carefully.“Monitoring personal computers is more like Centre having a knife. The knife should be handled like a doctor, not like a thief,” he opined.
