The column written, in the pen name Kutheeti, called DMK a party without any ideology and without internal democracy. “Tallest flagpole has no use for a party lost in family politics,” the column said.
DMK, on Wednesday, erected a 114 feet flagpole with a large party flag, in Anna Arivalayam. The tall flagpole created mixed response in the political circle as it was claimed that DMK wanted to exceed 100 feet flagpole of AIADMK and AMMK, both in Madurai district.
Namadhu Amma, on Thursday’s edition, came out with a column criticising the DMK by recalling the past electoral results of the party. “In the last 23 years, DMK had not crossed double digit as far the number of MLAs are concerned in the state Assembly despite having mega alliances and spending huge money for the elections,” Namadhu Amma said.
The column also criticised the DMK by questioning that why a party which has no representative in Lok Sabha require the tallest flagpole in the state. “What is use of flagpole being the tallest when the party does not respect its cadres and does not follow democracy,” questioned the column.
