60-yr-old killed in road mishap
A 60-year-old man, who was taking his granddaughter to a play school on his bike, was killed when a truck hit his vehicle while negotiating a right turn in KVK Kuppam on Thursday morning. The granddaughter escaped with minor injuries.

The deceased was identified as Krishnamurthy, a retired Ashok Leyland employee. Angered residents blocked the road for about half-an-hour and demanded the authorities to install speed breakers. The traffic investigation wing police arrested the truck driver, Kalidoss (40), a native of Neetamangalam in Thiruvarur. The residents gathered at the accident spot and complained of over speeding trucks on the stretch. Police registered a case under IPC section for death caused due to negligent driving.
