    Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation organises the film festival that is set to commence on Thursday and will go on till December 20. Thangaraj, general secretary, Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, received the cheque from Palaniswami.  After distributing the cheque, Palaniswami said that when late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was in power she donated Rs 10 crore towards the centenary celebration of Indian cinema and following that every year the state government had been donating significant amount for conducting the Chennai International Film Festival. “In 2011, state government donated Rs 25 lakh for the film festival and from 2012 to 2017, Rs 50 lakh was donated per year. Now the amount had been increased to Rs 75 lakh,” said Palaniswami.
      
    State government, on Tuesday, announced Rs 2,000 per month as incentive for students studying post graduation in Tamil literature in International Institute of Tamil Studies. Nearly, 30 students studying M.A. Tamil literature will be eligible for the grant.
    The scheme was announced in the Assembly under Rule 110 of Tamil Nadu Assembly Rules, on June 28, this year. The scheme will be implemented from the academic year and 15 students studying first year M.A. Tamil literature will be receiving Rs 2,000 per month.
    A book titled Thiruvalluvarm Kaala Ezhuthil Thirukkural  was also released by Palaniswami.
     
    The book was written in Tamil Brahmi letters that was prevalent at the time when Thiruvalluvar penned the epic verses. 

    Warehouses inaugurated

    Chief Minister Palaniswami, through videoconferencing, inaugurated four warehouses, two bank buildings and two fertilizers warehouses, attached to Cooperation department, constructed at the cost of Rs 8.95 crore.
     
    Among the four warehouses, two were constructed at Manaiyeripatti village in Thanjavur district, at the cost of Rs 3.4 crore. The two warehouses together have the capacity of storing 2,500 metric tonnes.
     
    Two other warehouses were constructed in Valayampattu village in Vellore district, constructed at the cost of Rs 2.65 crore with a capacity of 1,000 metric tonnes each.
     
    The two bank buildings were constructed at Belukurichi in Salem district and in Kumbakonam at the cost of Rs 80 lakh each. The two fertilizer warehouses were constructed at Vengikal village in Tiruvannamalai district and in Srivilliputhur in Virudhunagar district, at the cost of Rs 1.3 crore. Both have the capacity of 1000 metric tonnes each.
     
    The CM also inaugurated an additional building for panchayat union office in Watrap in Virudhunagar district, constructed at the cost of Rs 2.5 crore and five bridges under the Department of Municipal Administration, Rural Development and Special Programmes. The total cost of the inaugurated projects is Rs 7.54 crore.
