Kani hopeful of strong anti-BJP alliance
DMK Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi on Saturday exuded confidence that a strong alliance would be formed at the national level against the ruling BJP for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Talking to reporters at the airport, Kanimozhi referred to the participation of her brother and DMK president MK Stalin in the meeting of Opposition parties in the national capital on December 10 and said the focal point of the meeting was toform a strong alliance. “I am confident that a strong alliance will be formed,” she added.
Stalin, who has been deputing sister Kanimozhi for the previous meetings, would be leaving the city for New Delhi, understandably, on Sunday night, to attend Monday’s meeting. This would be first major conclave of national leaders Stalin would be participating in after taking over the reins of the party from his deceased father M Karunanidhi.
Cyclone relief issue in Parliament
Meanwhile, asked about the low allocation from the Centre for cyclone relief, the DMK Rajya Sabha MP said the party MPs would raise Cyclone Gaja issue in the ensuing winter session of the Parliament. The DMK would raise the issue of Tamil Nadu not being allotted required sum for cyclone relief, Kanimozhi who is also the DMK Women’s Wing Secretary said. On reported release of the seven Rajiv case convicts in a few days, she said, “Everyone’s request and expectations were the same.”
