Governor Purohit launches Flag Day collections with contribution of Rs 25,000

A Raj Bhavan release here said, the Governor, while addressing the state through All India Radio and Doordarshan, remembered the sacrifices made by the personnel of the Armed Forces in protecting the country’s territorial integrity.

He called upon the people of Tamil Nadu to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund to supplement the Government’s efforts in the welfare activities for ex-Servicemen and their dependents.

Additional Chief Secretary to Governor R Rajagopal, Principal Secretary to the Government Public Department Dr P Senthil Kumar, Special Secretary to the Government (Public) Department Mythili K Rajendran and Chennai District Collector A Shanmuga Sundram were present on theoccasion.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami contributed Rs 19,000 to the fund on Friday.
