Jaya’s PA circulates video on social media, yearns for her return

Poongundran was considered a powerful person by party cadre as she was said to prefer passing on sensitive information to ministers and other leaders through him. He was also taking care of her appointments. Post her death, however, Poogundran moved to his village near Orathanadu in Thanjavur district and is leading a simple life.

On Wednesday, which marked Jayalalithaa’s second death anniversary, Poongundran circulated a video in which he acclaimed the late leader as the grandeur of Tamil Nadu. “When I was with you, I was respected in politics and now you have become a god. I earn respect in the spiritual life and with that I have been leading a simple life,” he is heard as telling.

Stating that women were very bold when Jayalalithaa was alive, Poongundran yearned for her return to rescue the womenfolk in the state. “Please call me Poongundran in your majestic tone… at least in my dreams,” he says in the video.
