The body of a man was found in the drain at Ammur on October 23. It had a ‘Rajinikanth’ tattoo on the right arm and the head was tonsured. Police after recovering the body sent it to Wallajahpet GH for post mortem and started investigations. As the body started decomposing, police buried it.

Meanwhile, Maheswari (40), wife of Ramesh Kumar (45), a former DMK councillor of Wallajahpet, lodged a complaint at the Wallajahpet police station stating that her husband was missing for over a month and that he could not be located. When they asked for his identification marks, she said he had shaved his head recently and would have a Rajinikanth tattoo on the right forearm.

Following this, cops showed the photo of the man, whose body was found in the drain at Ammur and another picture showing the Rajinikanth tattoo on the right forearm. Maheswari confirmed that the deceased was her husband Ramesh Kumar. Police suspect that he must have consumed alcohol, slipped into the drain and died. However, investigations are under way to find the exact cause of the death of Ramesh Kumar.
