Speaking to reporters, he said that the case against the Sterlite factory has been monitored by an expert committee. “When MK Stalin was a minister, he gave the nod for the extension of the Sterlite factory but now, he is blaming the ruling AIADMK government,” Thambidurai asked.
Stating that the government was on the right path in the Sterlite case, Thambidurai said, the government would file a review petition and would fight until the factory is closed permanently. “The government has taken a policy decision not to resume the Sterlite factory,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Thambidurai urged the Centre to declare Cyclone Gaja as a national disaster. He also said that Vaiko had appreciated the Ministers for the relief works and it was for the MDMK leader to explain his stand on the DMK alliance.
