Virudhunagar sends relief materials to Tiruvarur
Relief materials, including essential commodities, collected from different parts of Virudhunagar district was flagged off to Tiruvarur district on Monday.

On November 16, cyclone Gaja struck coastal districts of delta region. Tiruvarur was among the several districts that faced unprecedented devastation.
In an effort to help the cyclone-hit victims, a truckload of relief materials worth Rs 22.19 lakh was was flagged off by Virudhunagar Collector A Sivagnanam in the presence of various officials from Departments of District Administration to Tiruvarur.
According to sources, the present consignment was the second phase of relief material that was being sent to Tiruvarur. The consignment included essential commodities such as rice, dhal, wheat, milk powder, biscuits, rusk, atta, match bundles, candles, dresses, bed sheets, mats, towels and sanitary napkins. In Thoothukudi, relief materials received at two centres had been sent to districts.
