VCK chief urges Centre to grant state’s relief demand

Along with the fund, a team from the Centre should also visit the cyclone-hit areas and assess the damage,” he said, at a press meet, in Chennai.
Cyclone Gaja wreaked havoc in the Delta districts and damaged properties and livelihood of people apart from taking away the lives of several people. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami visited New Delhi and sought financial assistance from the Union government. Meanwhile, Thirumavalavan said, “There is a snag in the relief operations in cyclone affected areas and the state government should answer the demands of the public. People in interior areas have not received any essential commodities such as food, water and medicines and so the Chief Minister should immediately interfere to solve the crisis.”
He added that “The Chief Minister should visit the cyclone affected areas once again and speed up the relief works in the districts.”
