Forest department exams postponed
In a major relief to those preparing for the state forest department exams, the department on Thursday postponed the exams scheduled from November 25 to November 30.

A press release from Panagal building, state forest headquarters said that the state considering the extensive damages caused by Cyclone Gaja in Nagapattianam, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur and other neighbouring districts have decided to postpone the exams. The exams were to be held to fill the vacancies in the Tamil Nadu Forest Departments for the posts of the Forester, Forest Guard and Forest Guard with driving licenses.
New dates for the examination will be announced in due course, the release said. It may be noted that several aspirants in Delta region have reached out to the forest department seeking postponement of the exams. Several examination centres and education institutions in as many as six districts are in bad shape and the forest department like several universities have decided to postpone the exams, forest department sources said. The current vacancies are being enumerated and vacant posts in critical tiger reserves and wildlife sanctuaries will be filled first,sources said.
