Few houses inundated in UT, Villupuram
Heavy rain lashed Puducherry and its suburbs for the second day on Thursday disrupting normal life.

Several low lying areas were inundated while roads were flooded. Puducherry received 5.7 cms of rainfall during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am today. Meanwhile, Lt Governor Kiran Bedi visited several rain affected areas including Reddiyarpalayam, Kamban Nagar, Bhoomiyanpet and directed officials to pump out the stagnated water.
Meanwhile, nearly 24 houses were damaged in heavy rain and sea erosion in the Bommayarpalayam fishermen village in Villippuram district. The affected fishermen took to the street but were later pacified.
