TC issued to 2 students for not paying fees
A private school in Tirupur district has issued Transfer Certificate (TC) to two girl students for not paying fees.
Coimbatore
The parents of the girls, studying in Class 6 and Class 3 at a private school in Vidyalayam area on Palladam Road in Tirupur, could not pay the full fees amount on time.
Suresh, father of the two, working as a vehicle driver claimed that he sought extra time to pay fees. But he could not arrange the money due to less work, post Deepavali. He along with his wife Nirmala and their two children, visited the Tirupur district Collector office on Monday demanding action against the school for their ‘irresponsible attitude’.
In his petition, Suresh claimed to have paid Rs 32,000 fee out of the Rs 45,000 fixed by the school for both his daughters. “Of the remaining Rs 13,000, the school asked us to pay Rs 7,000 meant for this term. As there was a delay, the school issued TC to both my daughters, on 13 November without giving us any time,” he added.
Despite requests by parents, the school administration refused to re-admit the two girls. Following this, the parents gave a petition to Tirupur Collector KS Palanisamy, who forwarded the petition to the education department.
Tirupur Collector assured that he would inquire into the incident and added, “If both the students are studying in Classes less than 8, they can be admitted in any neighbouring government school even without a TC. However, I am yet to receive their petition and I will look into it.”
