Tasmac staff perform ‘brandy’ pooja to save shop from closure
In a bid to save their new enterprise from ‘agitating’ local residents and to ensure their business prospers, employees of a new Tasmac outlet conducted brandy pooja in Vandavasi town, perhaps in the hopes that their prayers get heard by the ‘high’ and mighty!
Tiruvannamalai
The pooja was held subsequent to a few locals creating a stir in front ofanother outlet on Arni road three days ago demanding its immediate closure due to which police and revenue officials had to intervene to pacify the irate crowd.
This was followed by locals protesting in front of a newly opened outlet on Acharapakkam road forcing it to down shutters within thirty minutes of is opening two days ago.
Hence when another new outlet was opened in the old fort moat locality near the Vandavasi bus stand, three staffers conducted the pooja using a quarter bottle of brandy, coconut, flowers and camphor. After praying for divine guidance to ensure they face no problems from locals and also seeking good business, they poured brandy on the ground and after performing the pooja, gave those present brandy to drink. They later continued with the day’s business. When reports last came in, none of the locals had protested in front the shop yet.
