NCSET 2018 begins at Vellore Institute of Technology

The theme of this two-day conference is “Contemporary Challenges and Opportunities” and it is being organised to encourage innovative thinking and research-based product development amongst the postgraduate students and research scholars.

The chief guest Dr Ashok Jagannathan, Principal Engineer and Senior Technologist, Intel Corporation, Bangalore gave an extensive coverage of the applications of AI emphasising on the need to build India specific solutions for problems within our country.

He mentioned that the challenges in incorporating some of the emerging technologies in India should be seen as an opportunity to build indigenous solutions and technologies for the development of our country.

The guest of honour Shri Anil Kalaga, Joint General Manager (HR) and Head (Talent Development) Larsen and Toubro, Chennai, gave a very stimulating talk loaded with advice on how to build one’s own branding in order to make an impact in the industry.

He gave very interesting insights from the analysis conducted during training of new recruits at his organisation. Around 350 research papers will be presented during the conference under various tracks and an e-book of abstracts was released during the inauguration. Dr V T Sreedevi Dean School of Electronics and Dean School of Electrical Engineering, welcomed the gathering.
