    As the Regional Meteorological Department (RMD), Chennai, forecasted that there will be a change in the direction of Cyclone 'Gaja', which is likely to cross Tamil Nadu coast between Cuddalore and Pamban by 15th November, the district administration has deployed the disaster response team of 25 personnel.
    The team members, led by commander Nishal, will be sent to the flood prone areas in Cuddalore district. So far, 8 teams of disaster rescue force have been sent to different parts of Tamil Nadu to contain impending danger posed by Cyclone 'Gaja' 
    Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts including Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Karaikal, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Villupuram besides the Union Territory of Puducherry. The met department has forecast gusty winds with a speed of 80-90 kmph to blow in these districts on November 15.
    An advisory has been issued to the fishermen not to venture into west central Bay of Bengal from November 13-15.
