Women cops trained in handling complainants

Deputy Commissioner of Police N S Nisha, who presided over the programme, said personnel at All Women police stations must ensure that they are easily accessible.

“Women, children and their family members should come forward by themselves to approach the police without any hesitation. The cases dealt by the All Women police stations are sensitive and hence, the environment should be such that it encourages them to approach us with their problems. Apart from solving cases, the police personnel and the counsellors should help victims of sexual harassment,” she said.

Family welfare experts were brought in to train the participants. They were informed about best practices while dealing with complainants and victims to ensure clear communication of actionable information.
