Married woman killed by ‘lover’

Anitha (28), a nurse in a private hospital and the wife of Kadiresan, an auto driver, had left home on Monday night and did not return. The couple got married ten years ago and have two boys. Vellore north police received information that a woman’s body was floating in the lake, and identified it as Anitha. On hearing this, Kadiresan registered a complaint to the police that he suspected Ajith Kumar, a private financier of the same locality, to have killed his wife.

On investigation, police found that Anitha had a relationship with Ajith Kumar and when Kadiresan noticed it, he had snatched the phone away from his wife and had scolded her. On Monday when Kadiresan was away, Ajith Kumar allegedly came to Anitha’s house. When she remonstrated him for this, he allegedly beat her up and forced her to go with him to Saduperi. After reaching there, he is suspected to have murdered her, according to police.

Police sent Anitha’s body to the Vellore Government Medical College Hospital for post mortem examination.

Police have registered a case and are searching for Ajith Kumar who is absconding.
