Man, daughter among 3 killed in mishap
Three passengers, including a man and his daughter, were killed on the psot and 31 others were injured after a bus, in which they were travelling, rammed a stationary truck near Pandarakulam on Tirunelveli bypass road during the early hours on Thursday.

According to police, a government bus was proceeding from Coimbatore to Nagercoil with around 35 on board. While it was passing through the Tirunelveli bypass road around 4 am, the driver reportedly dozed off and rammed a stationary truck. In the impact of the collision, the front portion of the bus got completely disfigured and three persons were killed on the spot. The deceased were identified as S Rajesh Kumar (35) of Palladam, Coimbatore, G Subbaiah (55) of Aralvaimozhi and his daughter Suganya (21).
Based on a complaint lodged by Sujarani (30), wife of Rajesh Kumar, Thalaiyuthu police have registered a case under Sections 279, 337, 338 and 304 (A) of IPC. On information, 108 ambulance rushed to the spot and carried the injured to Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital. Three passengers, who suffered grievous injuries, were being treated in the casualty ward, sources said.
Most of the injured were discharged after first aid at the Tirunelveli hospital. Later all of them resumed the journey to their respective destinations in another bus, sources said.
