687 lab technicians appointed
In a bid to upgrade facilities and manpower in the healthcare sector of the state, the department appointed 687 level three lab technicians on Thursday at an event held at Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital.

The government medical care is equipped with advanced facilities like CT scan, cath lab and linear accelerator facilities, MRI, etc.
The event on Thursday was presided over by Health Minister C Vijayabhaskar. Minister for School Education KA Sengottaiyan, Animal Husbandry Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan, Minister Vellamandi Natarajan and Minister for Khadi and Village Industries Board G Baskaran also took part.
The state has appointed 10,931 doctors and specialists, 9,533 nurses and 23,955 staff, including lab technicians, since 2012. The present recruitment will help the health department in its operation against dengue and swine flu.
