Woman nabs pickpocket on Chennai bus

According to police, Ranjini (29) of Vellore, who boarded a bus to Chennai, was trying to occupy a seat when she felt a tug at her handbag.  She immediately turned and noticed a man attempting to slit her hand bag. In a swift reaction, Ranjini caught the man and shouted for help.  On hearing her screams, other passengers rushed to her help and thrashed the man.

On information, Vellore north police rushed to the spot and arrested the culprit who was identified as Saravanan (39), of Salem. During inquiry, Saravanan told the cops that he used to go to various towns and steal different things.. A case was registered against him in connection with the Monday attempt on the bus.
