DMK Chief MK Stalin on Tuesday met the senior journalist Gopal of Tamil magazine ‘Nakkheeran’ at Kasthuriba hospital, where the later was taken for a medical examination.
While addressing the press after the meeting, the DMK chief said that the arrest of the journalist shows that there’s no freedom for press.
He said, “BJP national secretary H Raja, who wanted the statues of Periyar to be destroyed and talked ill about the judiciary has not yet been arrested. Police have not taken any action against S Ve Shekher, who openly put down female journalists. The arrest of Gopal is condemnable.”
The DMK chief also stated that if Gopal is not released, the Tamil Nadu government will have to face adverse consequences.
